CURRENT POSITIONS AVAILABLE In Chico: Have you ever considered foster parenting? Foster Care: Foster parenting a child in need is a vital link in stopping child abuse. It is an important and rewarding contribution. As foster parents, you have the opportunity to show a foster child how your family works and plays, share your family values and traditions, and fully accept a child into your home. There are approximately 98,000 children in Foster Care in California; the average age is 8.5 years old. These children, who are unable to remain with their birth families until problems are resolved, need kindness, nurturing and guidance. Youth and Family Programs is licensed by the California Department of Social Services/Community Care Licensing to certify homes for foster care. Youth & Family Programs is dedicated to working as a team with foster parents, birth families, relatives, friends, teachers, and any other participants to achieve permanence for every child. We always have staff available to answer questions regarding foster parenting. Some aspects of our program are: Accepting Butte Co. In Anderson: Shasta Co. Transistional Housing Placement Program: Live in Mentors Needed! We pay your half of the rent up to $300 per month. What is it?
